We Make It Good

Shilo is at it again. Besides being a Emmy Award-winning creative production company, they are also behind a series of electronic/dance mixtapes. For the Volume 3 in the series, it’s UK based Sinden who gives us a representation of some of the jams he’s playing in his club sets right now.
As I write this, none of the tracks have been released yet. Not that I just play dubs, mind. I draw loads of old and familiar tunes, too, because that would be dumb and who cares how exclusive you are anyhow. I really wanted the mix to be a kinda preview to a whole bunch of stuff to get excited about in the forthcoming months

Personally I think there is a lot of annoying stuff on here (have only just heard it once) but overall it seems fairly good if you’re into the UK electronic club scene.

NYC Waterfalls

From today and the rest of the summer you’ll be able to see four giant waterfalls in New York City as part of a public art project designed by Danish/Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson. One of the waterfalls will be constructed beneath the Brooklyn Bridge, while the others will fall from free-standing scaffolding towers on the East river.
“It’s about seeing water in a different way”, Eliasson told a news conference on Wednesday, unveiling plans for the waterfalls, which will range in height from 90 to 120 feet — around the same as the Statue of Liberty from head to toe.
And if your fast you can also still make it to Olafur Eliasson’s Take your time exhibition at MoMa.

FWA Theater and In2media showreel ‘08

I know this is a little dated, but I still feel I need to write a little something about FWA theater. FWA theater is a one-stop-destination for quality motion graphics and inspirational design videos out there.
It’s build on the amazing FiV platform by Fantasy Interactive. And has a lot of fresh features like drag-and-drop search functionality and you can save your favorites in your personal library.
Amongst all the breathtaking work, FWA Theater also features In2media’s Showreel ‘08 which includes a lot of my motion work done while working at In2media as Art Director together with my good friends Pelle Martin, Jakob Prinzlau and Jacob Jensen. Go check it out!

I AM

I AM is a new club event taking place four times a year – every time in new festive surroundings – with a new concept and theme and changing international DJ line-ups, artists, fashion magazines, design brands etc.
At each event I AM is going to put focus on one humanitarian organisation or initiative in order to help and support a good and worthy cause like Children with cancer, the Red Cross, the Aids Fund.
Together with party promoter Nima K, I did concept, logo design and creative direction for these images. I wanted to give the logo a physical appearance and integrate it into the visuals. We made the logo out of wood 2 meters high and half meter deep and painted them white. The letters were used at the shoot as well as decoration at the actual event.
My good friend Simon Rasmussen (Stylist), Jonas Bie (Photographer) and I came up with the black and white Helmut Newton and Reservoir Dogs inspired look for the models. We wanted it to appeal to both the fashion and graphic/creative audience.
I created an 8 page invitation folder, as well as tee’s, poster, stickers, banners and eFlyers. Pictures of this as well as pictures from the first event will follow soon.

Got GAM3?

I never got around to post this work on my portfolio site, so i figured I would give you a peak at it here.
Since 2003 I’ve been been helping my good friends over at GAM3 (Martin Schultz and Simon Prahm), creating a strong visual identity with focus on youthful street and urban culture.
GAM3 (pronounced “game”) is the quintessence of street culture. With base in Denmark, Scandinavia, and organized as a non-profit organization the program is a fusion of street basketball, urban culture and an effort to integrate minority youth in the community.
Most people in Denmark today recognize the characteristic basketball player in the speech bubble, partly due to the dedicated street team of young kids putting up stickers and posters. Read more about GAM3 here.
As for previous years I this time created poster, flyers, tee’s, street-markings and so forth for GAM3’s many events, used both in Denmark and at their locations in the middle east. Together with Anders Lindegaard (GAM3) and Carsten Seidel (photographer) we created four strong pictures Playground, Freedom, Step-Up and Challenge. Playground and Freedom promoting the Street GAM3 local events, Step-Up being the new street dance events for girls and Challenge promoting the big GAM3 Finals event at Rådhuspladsen (City Hall, Copenhagen).
