30 days of Delta

It’s no secret that geometric shapes and especially triangles are reoccurring elements in graphic design. But it’s really been exceptionally trendy lately… guess what goes around comes around. Dembro has set out on a interesting visual experiment, creating a triangle a day for 30 days. Go check it out on the blog 30 days of Delta.

Bye bye September
Posted by kRiSs | Filed under News

A month has passed since I returned to Copenhagen, and I’ve been keeping me busy and staying in shape doing different freelance assignments. Thought I would just give you a small sneak peak at some of the entertaining stuff I’ve been up to - and what’s to come.
Did a small motion spot intended for viral use for Atava Fun Team, commissioned by my old friends at Lbi Cph (previously Framfab). Also helped out my buddies at In2media with some identity work for 5 new channels launching on POTG.tv. Still in production is a tv identity package for new show on danish tv station TV2 Zulu called Zulu Love Camp. Designed a tee for my friend, info on this and how to buy soon. Did new designs for the fashion party peeps at I AM, this time hitting Aarhus. And right now working on concepts for the much hated on Woofy… we want to turn ya’ll haters around : )
Seems like I’ll be spending next month at the acclaimed danish advertising agency Wibroe, Duckert og Partners. Looking forward to collaborate with their talented creatives and hopefully create some great work.
Other than that I’m still planning my next travel… it’s all a bit hush hush right now, so stay tuned to LaKriss and other sweet stuff.

Girl Talk
Posted by kRiSs | Filed under Inspiration, Miscellaneous

Just stumbled upon this graphic. It’s a beat-by-beat breakdown of samples used on the tack What It’s All About of the newest Girl Talk Album Feed The Animals. He claims to have over 300 song snippets in just over 50 minutes on there, so if you’re in to crazy mash-up extravaganza you should check out this Pittsburgh-based computer maestro.

Shake it up!

The new Nintendo Wii game ‘Wario Land - Shake It’ is taking it’s shaking very seriously. The game is controlled by shaking the Wii, which is nicely translated into viral on YouTube. We’ve seen similar concepts, but this is a YouTube’s first. See for yourself!
REVERIE

I’m proud to finally share this short film with everyone - no time for words - let the moving images do the talking… Here is the raw footage (downsized to 1/4 resolution) from the prototype EOS 5D MKII that Canon allowed me to borrow over a 72 hour period.
Watch this amazing quality HD raw video that this new Canon SLR shoots. The camera will be around $2700 in reatail. Of course they have used over $40K worth of lenses, and top professional lightning… but still. Check it out here.
They will be releasing some raw footage on the blog soon, to proof the doubters that they indeed haven’t tweaked anything on the original material.
Also check out the behind the scenes footage here.

Discover brilliant

The release of Adobe CS4 Master Collection is right around the corner, and it looks like it has a lot of really slick new features - I can’t wait! I’m especially looking forward to the new Photoshop and After Effects 3D integration features and also some of the nice brush and path updates in Illustrator, as well as canvas rotation when working with a wacom tablet.
If you’re as excited as me I recommend taking a look at the Adobe Shortcut to Brilliant website, that showcases a lot of the new features in the software package by the people using it. Latest addition being Vasava Studios from Barcelona.

Julien Vallée
Posted by kRiSs | Filed under Inspiration

Julien Vallée is graphic designer working out of Montréal. He does some incredible analog design work, with heavy use of paper and stop motion technics. He was just chosen as one of the finalists to this years ADC young guns. I especially love his motion work which cleverly mixes his analog style with digital manipulation and graphics.
