Hi all. I’m back from a nice long christmas holiday with my girlfriend and family in Sweden, far away from wifi hotspots and even my iPhone was disconnected. Needless to say that it’s been a little quite here on the blog. While I slowly get back to civilization I leave you with these stunning photos from the year coming to an end.

Master of samples

No secret that Kanye in the true spirit of hip hop production uses a shit load of samples to create his beats. Some of the original tracks are instantly recognizable, some obscure and a few sound nothing like the original. But you can’t deny that the guy has an ear for finding them long forgotten tunes and turn them into hip hop mega hits.

À la Montréal

Things have been quite on the blog regarding my travel escapades. By now most of you have already seen the Adidas House Party spot, and generally I’ve just been really busy here at Sid Lee (Montréal) working on the many exiting new concepts and projects that will extend this lovely campaign in the year to come - of which the first couple of things will launch already in january… will keep you updated here.
Montréal is a lovely city. Coming from Copenhagen and living in New York for some months, this city is definitely a fine blend of european and north american culture that suits me very well. The nightlife in the city is also alive and kicking - despite the city’s size and the cold weather.
People don’t go into hibernation, which I sometimes find is the case in DK during the winter. Speaking of the weather, it gets pretty damn cold here! But across the board I find it more pleasant than the cold, windy and rainy winter weather of Denmark - I mean at least the sun shines sometimes!
I’ve made some great friends through work and also reunited with some old buddies. Everyone has made my stay here easy and comfortable and I’m kinda sad to leave them so soon… Jup that’s right - I’m going back. I’ll be spending the Christmas holidays in Denmark and Sweden for some good ol’ fashioned Jule hygge. Then I’ll be off to Amsterdam in the beginning of january where I’ll help power up the all new Sid Lee office. So if anyone have some good advice on living in Amsterdam (apartments, places to go, people to see) please hit me up.
I’m working on getting my iPhone photo stream integrated on the blog. But besides those I’ve taking a bunch of photos from my stay in Montréal, take a peak at them here:

Classic Hip Hop Covers… In Lego

After 50 years as an industry leader, LEGO has become a staple in any kids toy box. In more recent times the mini-figs and legendary building blocks have been used to recreate famous landmarks, classic photographs and now: 20 Classic Hip Hop Album Covers Recreated in LEGO.
These are damn cool if you, like me, are a fan of LEGO and Hip Hop. Check ‘em all out at format mag.

Canon EOS 5D Mark II

As most already know Canon recently released the highly anticipated and hyped EOS 5D Mark II. The full-frame shooter updates the original 5D introduced back in 2005 with a 24 x 36mm 21.1 megapixel CMOS sensor, DIGIC 4 processor with 14-bit analog-to-digital conversion, and the ability to capture Full HD 1,920 x 1,080 video.
Now the first user video test are popping up on the interweb. Check out some of the vids below on vimeo… and do some searching. The output looks truly amazing. Especially the stuff shot in low light conditions. I want!
