Every hour is happy hour here. Amsterdam, after all, rides a high that most cities can only imagine. But forget the red-lit windows, the cannabis cafes, and the sex on sale. This city is home to world-class performances, priceless collections of classical art, up-and-coming fashion ateliers, and some of the most exciting architecture and design in recent memory.
The Cut & Paste Amsterdam event is coming up this thursday. This real-time design battle is sure to be super fun, so everyone in AMS should consider swinging by. I have a couple friends coming down for the event too, so will see ya’ll in the bar!

iPhoneography

One of my favourite things about the iPhone, is that you have a small camera with you at all times. Combined with the 3G internet for direct on the fly uploads, it makes for fun and fast photo-blogging. So I’ve been going crazy lately downloading different photo-apps that spice up the rather bad photo quality. Som of my favorites are QuadCamera, CameraBag and PanoLab. Check ‘em out in the App-Store.

MiniVegas

MiniVegas are a collection of live action and animation directors based in London.
We had these guys present us some of their groundbreaking work here at Sid Lee yesterday. Their interactive broadcast idents for TV channel S4C, react to the voiceover of the tv host speaker, giving unique and different idents everytime. Very inspirational work and a great site over at minivegas.co.uk

Adidas SLVR SoHo Store

If the Apple Store Sold Clothing …
adidas opened its first adidas SLVR store, designed by Sid Lee in partnership with Aedifica, during New York Fashion Week. The New York Times seems to have appreciated the new retail concept store.
Located in Soho, the 250 square meter space reflects the values of the adidas SLVR brand, including simplicity, transparency and functionality. Other SLVR stores are set to open this year in Paris, Miami, Bangkok, Berlin and Moscow.
