Back from Cannes
Posted by kRiSs | Filed under News, Travel

Saturday this years Cannes Lions came to an end with a grande party on the Croisette after the final Film, Integrated and Titanium Award show. Now I’m back in Amsterdam after a nice long weekend down south with a hella lot of inspiration, sun and partying. Special shoutout to my big bro for an awesome 2 Micheling star dining experience.
It was nice to see non-traditional campaigns win big in almost all categories. With Phillips Carousel swooping the Film Lion Grand Prix (a film made for the web), The Best Job In The World winning Grand Prix in both Press and Cyber, and Whopper Sacrifice, The Great Schleb, and Oasis Dig Out Your Soul all winning Titanium Lions.
But the big winner this year was without a doubt the Obama for America Campaign, winning Grand Prix in both Titanium and Integrated… and who can argue with that (apart from the Republicans)?
Unfortnately it only came to a shortlisting for the adidas Originals campaign, but on the bright side Sid Lee won a Silver Lion for our branding. Gratz to my friends who worked on that!
I can’t find my card-reader… so no photo’s from the sunny riviera right now. But there’s always a little to see on my Twitpic or Facebook Uploads.
Almost forgot… if you have time I recommend watching the New Director’s Showcase - some good creative stuff there.

Cannes it is!
Posted by kRiSs | Filed under Travel

Tomorrow I’m heading to southern France to the lovely city of Cannes. The Cannes Lions is already in full affect, you can watch real time updates and highlights on their site. It’s the first time I’m lucky enough to go, since collecting Lions on stage together with Lars Cortsen and Framfab back in 2006, so really looking forward to the sun, the inspiration and of course the crazy parties!
Unfortunately adidas Originals didn’t make the Cyber Shortlist, but we’re still hoping for it in the viral and film category.
Will post some photos, once I return.

Uniqlo Calendar
Posted by kRiSs | Filed under Inspiration

Uniqlo always produces some mindblowing sites. A little while ago it was the Parka Style Tokyo Map that grabbed my attention. And now they are back with the Uniqlo Calendar, in style with the award winning Uniqlock. The calendar does use of beautiful tilt shift videos from Tokyo, that gives everything a nice miniature look. I’m looking forward to the screensaver coming soon.

Heading to Distortion Copenhagen
Posted by kRiSs | Filed under News, Travel

First of all, I know it’s been quit slow on posts on the blog lately. I’m planning a portfolio update soon so stay tuned for that, and also my brother and I have been writing a whole bunch over at Créol Brothers (in danish - but I’m sure most of you will at least appreciate the links).
I also finally got Twitter integrated on the blog (see bottom of page), check that space for frequent outbursts or follow me at @kriss_creol
Tonight I’m flying to Copenhagen to attend the yearly street party extraordinaire Distortion. Looking forward to hang out with my CPH friends and peeps. See ya soon!
It’s going to be an intense 4 days with a line-up ranging from techno legend Carl Craig (Detroit) to Berlin’s Queen of electro Ellen Allien, and of course local favorites Djuna Barnes, Kjeld Tolstrup, Hess is More vs Henrik Vibskov, Tomboy and Trentemøller – and new hyped names like We Are The World, Wildbirds & Peacedrums, Viva Radio, Supermayer.
Keep updated on the festival at Créol Brothers, where we’ll be updating daily with photos and maybe even a interview or two.
cheers LaKriss… stay sweet!
