Heading to Distortion Copenhagen

Distortion Copenhagen

First of all, I know it’s been quit slow on posts on the blog lately. I’m planning a portfolio update soon so stay tuned for that, and also my brother and I have been writing a whole bunch over at Créol Brothers (in danish - but I’m sure most of you will at least appreciate the links).

I also finally got Twitter integrated on the blog (see bottom of page), check that space for frequent outbursts or follow me at @kriss_creol

Tonight I’m flying to Copenhagen to attend the yearly street party extraordinaire Distortion. Looking forward to hang out with my CPH friends and peeps. See ya soon!

It’s going to be an intense 4 days with a line-up ranging from techno legend Carl Craig (Detroit) to Berlin’s Queen of electro Ellen Allien, and of course local favorites Djuna Barnes, Kjeld Tolstrup, Hess is More vs Henrik Vibskov, Tomboy and Trentemøller – and new hyped names like We Are The World, Wildbirds & Peacedrums, Viva Radio, Supermayer.

Keep updated on the festival at Créol Brothers, where we’ll be updating daily with photos and maybe even a interview or two.

cheers LaKriss… stay sweet!

FITC and Mobile Uploads

I just attended the FITC in Amsterdam, and saw some good presentations by the likes of Joshua Davis, and Florian Schmitt of Hi-Res! But also some nice new innovative stuff by the guys behind Papervision 3D.

I got a couple of crappy snapshots in my mobile uploads, which I’m still planning on getting integrated in this blog at one point.

I’m off to Copenhagen early tomorrow to pack down my apartment, party with my friends, and also try to fit in a day of jury work for the Creative Circle Awards, which I’m part of again this year.

Once I return, I can start calling Amsterdam my new home! Hooray!

Art Rebels Butik

Art Rebels Butik

The store will function as an epicentre for the many associated artists, designers, filmmakers, DJ’s etc. ArtRebels emerged out of the wish to create interaction between the creative scenes of Copenhagen, and in this way make more noise in unity, than is possible alone.

Back home, the creative heads at Art Rebels, just opened the doors to their first store in Kødboderne. Check the flyer after the jump. If you’re not to busy with all the CPH Fashion Week escapades, you should go check it out. Also remember I AM #5 ‘A Night with the Knights’ coming up tomorrow at the extravagant Knights Hall of Fame (for guestlist: go here). Once again I’m responsible for invites and posters, updates on this soon.

And for my peeps in Amsterdam: See you tonight at Sid Lee for the opening of our Starving Artists exhibition!

Still bloggin’

still open
Via FFFFound

It’s been a little quite here on the blog since i returned to the city of Copenhagen. I had a tight schedule which included a welcome-home-surprise-party thrown by my love Pernille, a bachelor party for my homie Pelle, and a birthday bash in Fredriksberg Have . Now I’m finally beginning to feel at home again, and slowly starting to take on freelance assignments while figuring out when to head back to New York. Feel free to contact me on hello[at] for any freelance inquiries.

Copenhagen Cycle Chic

CPH CycleCPH Cycle

Staying here in New York you start to get why everybody praises Copenhagen for it’s bike culture. The biggest problem commuting on bike in Copenhagen is that there is too many on bikes! Specially in rush hours while crossing Søerne
- 36% of Copenhagen’s citizens ride their bikes everyday!

Apparently the guys over at at are not only amazed by the cycling lifestyle of Copenhagen but also find the style and especially the girls rather interesting.

Copenhagen Cycle Chic is a social documentary blog about cycling life in this lovely city. It’s bike advocacy in high heels with a streetstyle twist from the world’s cycling capital.

Kind of miss DK when I see those pics. Also go to their flickr page for more pics.
